HOW YOU GOT STARTED IN MOTORSPORT
Well my first word was car, not mom or dad. I started on motorcross but had a nasty crash. My dad an I thought it would be better moving onto 4 wheels on quadbikes, he then had a nasty crash. So we moved to karting in 2007 and then onto cars in 2015 with Signature Motorsport in Polo Cup.
FAVOURITE RACING CIRCUIT & WHY
Killarney. I love the mix of high speeds and tight and technical parts of the track. Always enjoyable racing.
EARLIEST RACING/CAR MEMORIES
My first time ever going round the track in a kart, it wasn’t very fast but certainly one to remember, this is where it all started.
SCARIEST RACING INCIDENT
2012 we had the African Open race on the Sunday and the SA championship race on the Saturday. During one of the heats on Saturday I had a collision with another driver which put me in the wall at very high speeds. I was flung out the kart and knocked out for 3 minutes. The following day I raced with the world’s biggest headache and won. I had a good line for that, “From the tires to the ticket”, as if you won the African Open you qualify for the Grand World Final.
MOST NOTABLE RACING VICTORIES
I think all of them really, certainly the most memorable would be my first ones in the different divisions. For the most notable I think it would be last year first win in the Mini at East London.
MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT IN GTC
Certainly the first win coming at East London in the Mini. Something we worked so hard for and to come so quickly.
RACING DRIVER YOU MOST LOOKED UP TO
Well my hero would have to be Michael Schumacher. Always supported him in F1.
IF YOU HAD A CHOICE TO RACE IN ANY CATEGORY, WHICH WOULD IT BE?
Supercars Championship in Australia.
FUTURE RACING GOALS
Right now I’m focused at the job in hand of winning the GTC2 championship.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
