GTC is devastated to learn of the passing of our friend and VW Motorsport driver Gugu Zulu. Gugu was due to drive a VW Jetta GTC in this year’s inaugural GTC series. Ahead of doing so he was climbing Mount Kilimanjaro but died just short of reaching the summit. He was climbing for the Trek4Mandela initiative, a part of the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund.
Motorsport has lost one of its greatest characters and the country one of its most inspirational people.
Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to his wife Letshego, their daughter and his mother, father and sister. Gugu will be sorely missed by a great many people.
